– Jeff Hertrick

“I would like to bring my 20 years of credit union governance background, along with my budget and management career experience to the board and further help the credit union move forward.

The credit union should strive to help all our members with good interest rates, and efficient money transfers whether they live in the Washington, D.C. area or outside of the U.S.”

Mr. Hertrick has been a credit union volunteer for more than 20 years, and he served on the OAS FCU Board of Directors from 2018 until 2023.

He was the National Geographic credit union’s board of directors’ chair for 9 years and negotiated its merger into OAS FCU in 2018.

In addition to his board of directors’ service, he has volunteered on the OAS credit union’s Community Relations & Membership Committee for the past 6 years and has served as the board secretary.

Jeff is Director of Digital Strategy at the National Press Foundation, a non-profit that provides no-cost fellowship training to journalists from around the world. The most recent NPF international training (on ‘Rare Disease Reporting’) included fellows from Argentina, Brazil, and El Salvador.

Previously, he worked at National Geographic for 19 years in a variety of roles, including as Director of Digital Video Operations, where he collaborated with the company’s partners in Madrid and Buenos Aires, as well as its technical vendors based in Argentina.

Throughout his career, Jeff has managed staff groups of more than 30 employees and departments with budgets over a million dollars, and he would like to share his experience for the benefit of our credit union members.
