Carlos Troncoso has been working for the Department of Information and Technology Services at the Organization of American States (OAS) for almost 20 years. He is currently the Information Technology Officer in charge of leading the transition of the Organization to the latest Microsoft technologies using Office 365 as well as managing existing BPM (Business Process Management) and CMS (Content Management System) technology platforms.
Born in Argentina, he has been a member of the OAS Federal Credit Union since 2002 upon joining the OAS. He served on the Technology Committee 10 years ago, supporting the successful transition of the Credit Union technology Infrastructure to its own, independent from the OAS. He returned to the committee in 2019 to support the digital transformation of the Credit Union with an emphasis on the user experience and security.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland University College and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science with a Graduate Certificate in Computer Security and Information Assurance from The George Washington University. He also holds a Project Management Graduate Certificate from the Georgetown University.
He is a soccer fan. In 2006 he co-founded a non-profit soccer academy with the goal of spreading the love for the game while teaching kids how to play and providing a family focused Club. He is also an active glider pilot in the Skyline Soaring Club in Front Royal, VA.
