Credit Committee

This year there are three (3) positions available for the Credit Committee; The two candidates with the highest number of votes will be elected to serve on the Credit Committee for a three-year term. The third candidate with the most votes will serve on the Credit Committee for a one-year interim termPlease see the candidate’s biography.

Working in the OAS for so many years has allowed me to develop interpersonal, administrative, organizational and problem solving skills that are necessary to work cooperatively within the Credit Union Committee. Furthermore, my experience in various areas of business, administration and finance will enable me to contribute to the objectives of efficiently maximizing quality service to the Credit Union.
Ilcia Rivas has dual citizenship of the United States and El Salvador. She joined the OAS in 2006 as a staff member of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (CIDH). Before joining the IACHR, she worked as a consultant in the Department of Human Development, Education, and Employment (previously known as Department of Fellowship).
Her functions as Administrative Officer of the IACHR include the monitoring, follow-up, and analysis of budgetary, financial, and administrative measures. As assigned, and within the delegated authority, reviews and adapts the budgetary, financial, and administrative guidelines and procedures to the specific needs of the work area. She is also responsible for sending the payment instructions as necessary, drafting preliminary reports in compliance with donor requirements and sending them for review and final certification by the OAS Department of Financial Services.
Ms. Rivas has a Bachelor of Science: Specialty: Business Administration; Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Science: Specialization in Technology Management (emphasis in Project Management) from the University of Maryland.
